It's because the gaming community as a whole has been burned too many times and we're fed up with greedy companies taking good ideas and running them into the ground for the sake of short-term profits.

It's not because one skin looks bad or out of place. This isn't just something that applies to NWI and skins, it applies to every dev, every game, and every change that has the potential to make a game less fun, whether it be balance, aesthetics, monetization, or what have you. If it isn't stopped immediately the game will gradually be ruined by misguided attempts to milk money from people. The only hope we have of preventing that from happening is to hammer NWI ruthlessly if it looks like they're heading even slightly back in that direction, because you absolutely cannot cut game devs any slack once they've shown their true colors. We've seen what NWI is willing to turn their game into if given the chance. It's because we've learned from bitter experience that if you give a game dev an inch they'll take a mile.

But the reason people are so outspokenly against them isn't because the individual skins are that bad. Day of Infamy is a teamwork-oriented shooter that will keep you on your toes and coming back for more with its diverse game modes and authentic arsenal. Defend the line, storm the beach, torch the enemy, or use a radio to call in fire support. Certainly not as bad as the Chinese skins. Experience close-quarters battles in iconic WWII settings. I think you're correct that the skins aren't that bad in isolation. I see a lot of people saying things like "I don't care for them but they're not that bad, stop whining." And I think that while the people who say this aren't necessarily wrong, they need to understand why the pushback is so severe.
